An open map of Greater Victoria

A first open map of Greater Victoria is online. It shows the region's watersheds, with creeks animated in the direction they flow, along with parks, ecosystems and the sea around us. Since then it has gained air photos from 1932 and 1950, records of herring spawn going back to 1932, and live weather and water data.

It is built from public data sources, which its "Data and credits" panel lists along with their licences and terms of use. The code is open source under the MIT licence, so another bioregion can reuse it.
